Dear Colleagues,

Altai State University, the Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian Bird Conservation Union invite you to participate in the traditional Siberian Ornithological Conference, dedicated to the memory and 90th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Russian ornithologist Eduard Andreevich Irisov (1935–1995).

The conference will take place in October 2025 in the city of Barnaul.

Conference Topics:

• Advances in theoretical, experimental, and applied ornithology;
• Avian fauna and populations, quantitative ornithogeography;
• Challenges and news in regional ornithology;
• Ecology of individual species or groups of birds;
• Rare bird species and their conservation issues;
• Birds in mountainous regions;
• Birds in anthropogenic landscapes;
• Captive breeding and maintenance of birds;
• Social ornithology;
• Birdwatching movement: its role, place, and prospects in the development of ornithological knowledge.

The conference proceedings are planned to be published.

Important Dates:

Those wishing to participate in the conference must send an application form to the organizing committee in electronic format by April 1, 2025.

Materials for publication should be sent as an email attachment by May 1, 2025.

Requirements for Material Submission:

The volume of materials should not exceed 5 A4 pages (including references) in a Word for Windows file in *.rtf or *.doc format. The file name should be the surname of the first author.  Font: Times New Roman, size 14, line spacing: 1.5; margins: 20 mm; paragraph indent: 1.25 cm; justified alignment. Acknowledgments and references to grant support should be included as the final paragraph. Invitations with the exact dates (tentatively October 20–24) and the conference program will be sent to participants in September 2025.

The organizing committee would appreciate it if you could disseminate this information among colleagues and other interested parties.
