In-person conference is cancelled

Unfortunately, we have to announce that the Conference of the European Ornithologist’s Union on 14–18 March 2022 in Giessen has been cancelled.

Under the current COVID-19 regulations of the State of Hesse an international conference in-person with that many participants is not possible. This is not the news we hoped to share with you, but under the present circumstances it is unfortunately necessary and the most responsible decision in terms of risk of infection.

However, the conference is not completely cancelled. Some highlights will continue as a one-day online conference. The presentations of the plenary speakers will be streamed online – details on the exact date (between 14. – 18. March 2022) and communication platform will follow soon. The attendance for the online conference will be free of charge. All conference fees already paid will be refunded.

The EOU General Assembly will be incorporated into the online conference.

The abstracts of all selected symposia and oral presentations as well as posters will be published in an abstract book if wanted by the authors. Information on this will follow soon.

We thank you for your understanding and we are looking forward to seeing you at least online at the conference in March! We are optimistic that we can meet again in-person in the summer of 2023 in Lund, Sweden – where the next EOU conference will be held.
