Birds of Prey and Owls of Northern Eurasia: Study and Conservation

The Astrakhan State Nature Biosphere Reserve and the Working Group on Birds of Prey of Northern Eurasia invite you to attend the IX International Conference on Birds of Prey "Birds of Prey and Owls of Northern Eurasia: Study and Conservation", scheduled for September 2024 at the Damchik settlement, Astrakhan State Nature Reserve.
The Conference will include a previously planned symposium on the distribution and ecology of owls in Northern Eurasia and the preparation of a separate collection of studies devoted to owls.
The Conference will also include a discussion of the work of WGWG, issues of cooperation and planning further research and other organizational matters.
The aim of the conference is to consider a wide range of questions related to the study and conservation of birds of prey, including ecology, distribution, ethology, systematics, morphology and evolution of birds of prey and owls of Northern Eurasia as well as problems of their conservation, breeding and sustainable human use.
We believe that the Conference will have a significant impact on the research and conservation of birds of prey and owls of Northern Eurasia, and the event will become an open platform for discussion and cooperation between the participants.
The forms of participation at the conference will include:
oral presentation;
poster presentation;
correspondence participation with publication.

Participation requests with the preliminary titles of the planned messages indicated in the registration cards should be sent to the Organizing Committee by e-mail astrzapov100@mail.rubefore 10 November 2023.
Materials prepared for duplication (with figures and tables in the text) should be submitted to the Organizing Committee of the Conference at the above address astrzapov100@mail.ru not later than February 01, 2024. In the subject line of the letter it is mandatory to indicate "Conf. Daybirds of Prey 2024". In the names of the files of the papers indicate the name of the first author and the theme of the paper, e.g.: Fedosov-philin.doc
The following information about the Conference will be sent to all registered participants in the Newsletter No. 2.
The publication of two Proceedings of the Conference is planned at the end of the Conference. Each participant may submit as first author no more than 2 papers of up to 5 pages for the main Proceedings and 1 paper of up to 10 pages for the owl Proceedings.
Papers should be prepared on A5 size pages (font size 10; Times New Roman; spacing 1.0; all margins 2 cm).
Pictures in .jpg format with 300 dpi resolution can be black-and-white or colour; they should be inserted into the text file and attached to the articles as separate files. Graphs and diagrams should be submitted as separate .xls files, suitable for processing.
There is no participation fee for participation in the conference.
The Astrakhan Biosphere Reserve provides nonresident participants with accommodation on the territory of the Damchik settlement for the period of the conference as well as transportation from Astrakhan to the conference venue. The number of free accommodations in the territory of the Reserve is 50 people.
During the Conference a guided tour of the Damchiksky section of the Astrakhansky State Reserve will be organized.
